The Best BBQ Chicken Legs

These grilled chicken legs are easy to make, delicious and perfect for your summer cookouts!

Ingredients

4 pounds chicken legs  1 lime 1 cup BBQ sauce  Dry Rub 2 TBSP brown sugar  1 TBSP dried minced onion 1 tsp chili powder ½ tsp garlic powder ½ tsp smoked paprika ¼ tsp salt 2 dashes cayenne pepper

Dry Rub

Mix together the brown sugar, minced onion, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and cayenne pepper in a small prep bowl.

Prep Chicken

Squeeze juice from the lime all over the chicken legs. Evenly coat the legs with the dry rub and allow the legs to sit for 5-10 minutes.

Grill Chicken Legs

Preheat grill to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place legs on the grill over direct heat. Grill for 30-40 minutes flipping every 10 minutes.

Add BBQ Sauce

Chicken legs should be at 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a basting brush, coat the chicken legs with BBQ sauce - all sides of the chicken legs.

Grill 

Cook for about 5 minutes before flipping. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes. You can repeat the BBQ sauce if you like more sauce.

Remove BBQ chicken legs from the grill and allow them to rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
