Easy Homemade Chili 

The Kitchen and a Latte

– ¼ cup flour – 3 tbsp chili powder – 1 tbsp cumin – ½ tbsp paprika – ½ tbsp garlic powder – 1 tsp salt see notes – 1 tsp turmeric – ½ tsp black pepper – ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

Chili ingredients

– 2 lb ground beef lean, can substitute turkey or pork – 1 yellow onion large – 1 green bell pepper – 1 red bell pepper  – 29 oz tomato sauce  – 28 oz crushed tomatoes  – 31 oz kidney beans drained (2 - 15.5 oz cans) -- The seasoning mix

Brown the meat Drain the excess fat

Add in the peppers and onions

Cook for about 5 minutes

Mix together the spices and flour

Stir in the tomatoes and spice mix Cook for about 30 minutes

Stir in the beans and cook about 5 minutes

The chili can cook for hours or can cook for just 30 minutes before adding beans.  Wait until close to the end of cook time to add the beans.

We like to serve with cooked rice, but that is optional.
