BBQ Chicken drumsticks (legs) on the grill is the perfect summer cookout recipe. They are inexpensive, easy to make and delicious.

–4 pounds chicken legs approximate 1 lime Dry Rub brown sugar dried minced onion chili powder garlic powder smoked paprika salt cayenne pepper

Ingredients
Mix the dry rub for the BBQ chicken. Mix together the brown sugar, minced onion, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and cayenne pepper in a small prep bowl.
Prep the chicken. Squeeze juice from the lime all over the chicken drumsticks. Evenly coat the legs with the dry rub and allow the legs to sit for 5-10 minutes.
Grilling the drumsticks. Preheat grill to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place drumsticks on the grill over direct heat and close the lid. Grill for 30-40 minutes flipping every 10 minutes.
Using a basting brush, generously coat the chicken legs with BBQ sauce. Cook for about 5 minutes before flipping. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
Chicken drumsticks have to be cooked to at least 165 to be safe, but are best around 175 degrees Fahrenheit. They have a better taste and texture at 175 degrees.
Enjoy! Once the drumsticks are at the desired temperature (at least 165 degrees), remove from grill and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
